    30 day view-through/engaged-view conversion windows are a complete nonsense. Do you sincerely believe anyone can remember an ad they watched for a few seconds beyond a few days? Large post-view conversion windows are a way for Google to bump up YT ROI by over representing its contribution in the purchase journey. As your video demonstrates, you've managed to reattribute most of the purchase value derived from your other channels (paid search included) to YT. Google says bravo!

    First excellent video. Not much content out there on this. What is the advantage of this over agency with DV360? and what quality of ads are needed. I use you tube TV as my cable provider and ads are pretty high level. The odd thing tho is the serving is all over the place. super short - long - 8 ads in row- 1 ad - tons of open ad space AKA zen moments - looks like wild west can you provide update? QR code vs 800?

    11:30 You can set a minimus CPC within TRoas Standard Shopping By using a portfolio bid strategy. I will allow you to both set a minimum and maximum CPC.

    For e-commerce brands who spend 500 USD or 1000 USD per month how on earth you can run troas on standard shopping without any conversion data plus you also can't rank high on bidding auctions with such slim budget for sure. I can bet on this statement

      Ive tried it and it takes forever to optimize and the volume sucks because of no previous history. The only way to crank it up is to test a lower tROAS but you have to be careful and find whats acceptable for your bottom line.

      I have one client with a $600/month budget. Over 9 months I tried testing every type of campaign to finally land on a PMax with a 400% tROAS. I had to boost the budget $10/day as it was running too lean. Once sales started flowing I was able to nudge it up to 600% to make acceptable margins.

    How do you go with Troas from day 1 if it needs minimum 15 conv in last 30 days? And if you wait for intial conversions how you achive those intial conversions by amnual CPC?

    Hey John, another great one! How do you feel about using micro-conversions with high AOV accounts? I find that optimizing accounts with so little purchase data gets hard with time, and it takes longer to figure out what's working and what's not. Do you think that could help this account?

    I'm sure you know what you're talking about but this video is not digestible at all lol. I don't think you're purposefully doing this but man it is hard to follow you. There is a lot of areas in the video that you insinuate people are supposed to know but most of aren't even using these third party apps like northbeam to relate to what you're talking about.

    Probably the best video you guys have put out! And that’s coming from John Moran’s number two fan (after Dave). Question, are these controlled tests simply adding spend to campaign x and seeing how MER / top line revenue is effected compared to before?

      Hey Caden here - Thanks for the nice comment! The controlled tests can be anything depending on how big of a test you want to do but essentially yes. So they can be anything from increasing or reducing spend to just changing the landing page or ad copy, audience etc. It all depends on how aggressive you want to be and if you want to do multiple tests at once that might potentially delude the understanding of the cause. Its a balancing game that typically has to do with if the client is in the red or green on profitability and also the time frame you have. Hope this helps!

    It isnt just the accent. I spoke to multiple people with an indian accent all of whom were rude, snarky and completely and purposely unhelpful. I finally spoke to one man with a thick Mexican accent who was professional, polite, and knowledgeable and solved my issue in less than 30 minutes.

    Hey Valentina, congrats for the videos, keep going! However, from the filtered search term report, you can see that those search terms you excluded brought 14 conversions in the period selected. Unfortunately, all the terms you show collected 0 clicks, so it’s difficult to understand what you excluded, but I guess you excluded something that was bringing good results. The message should be more “do it carefully” Vs don’t do it! :) Great type of content though!

    Ed Leak has an entire automation section in his program with scripts designed to do just that automatically. Jon Moran has mentioned using this strategy too in his single product standard shopping to force it serve for to very specific search terms. The experience that i have with this however is what you just described and it frustrates me a lot not knowing what the real best practice is when applying negatives...
